Ashanti Douglas, also known as Ashanti was was born in Glen Cove New York United States on October 13th 1980. She is a musician, singer and actor from the United States. Ashanti became famous as an 18-year-old and was signed to Murder Inc. Records in 2002. That same year, she made an appearance on Fat Joe's What's Luv? song and Ja Rule's Always on Time track both of which were huge hits. First female artist to be atop the Billboard Hot 100's top two positions across the United States, with Foolish on number one and What's Luv? at number two.
